The Parenteau Family {Nashville Pet Photographer}

On the blog this week are a few familiar faces: meet my friends Jourdan, Pete, and their two furry family members, Buzzy and Squirrel! We had a family photo session with the Parenteaus and their cats three years ago, and it was so nice to see them again!

Jourdan has had both cats since they were little fur babies, and now Buzzy is 13 and Squirrel will turn the same age in May! They're also siblings from different litters and have some similar colors and markings I just love. Plus, those green eyes get me every time.

They're both beautiful animals and I'm also glad to hear that Buzzy is recovering like a true champ from a recent leg amputation!

Enjoy some of my favorites!

The Norrod Family {Westmoreland Family Photographer}

I absolutely love it when I get to photograph families and pets at their own home -- especially in a beautiful place like Westmoreland!

On the blog this week are some of my favorite photos from a session with the Norrod family, including Alison, Daniel, their two dogs (Phoebe Yang and Buddy Love) and their cat, Hogan. Not only did I get the chance to see these lovable furry friends, but I also was able to meet their chickens and see lots of deer out on their stunning property!

Phoebe Yang and Buddy Love are both malti tzus (maltese shih tzu mix), but each have their own personality that comes along with their unique names. Phoebe has been a part of their family for nearly 10 years and was named after the famous Phoebe of Friends. The Yang portion of her name came from her shih tzu ancestry: Alison chose Yang because it symbolizes positivity. For some odd reason, she really enjoys Western movies (which I thought was cute and hilarious!).

Buddy Love loves anything he can eat, and enjoys spending time running around the yard and tagging along for car rides. He's not much a fan of baths, haircuts and being told, "No." Alison says, "He's funny because if he's in trouble, he'll follow you around until you smile or laugh at him."

And Hogan was adopted through New Leash on Life Lebanon when he was only 3 months old -- now he's 11! He's part Maine Coon and acts just like a dog. He even knows commands, enjoys haircuts and loves hunting -- but also loves sitting on your shoulders.

I hope you enjoy these few previews of their beautiful family and home!

Cat Rescue with the Beagle Freedom Project {Nashville Cat Photographer}

One of the most heartwarming parts about my job is capturing significant and meaningful moments -- and the cat rescue with the Beagle Freedom Project was all of that and more.

I had the opportunity to photograph these adorable cats being rescued from a lab. Unfortunately, all kinds of animals are still being tested on today. That's why it's so important to look for cruelty-free products. If you aren't sure how to know which products don't test on animals, you can check out resources like the Cruelty Cutter app and One Green Planet.

The Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) rescues any and all kinds of animals from labs like this one. I've also been lucky enough to work with this organization before when I photographed foster pup Lucky!

We also had an amazing singer assist us that day: Meghan Linsey! Not only was she a runner up from Season 8 of The Voice, but she's also an ambassador for BFP and a big advocate of cruelty-free products.

Many of the cats were scared and most were super friendly -- they simply needed some love. All of the cats involved are up for adoption (and several have been adopted already!). If you are interested in adopting one of these cats, you can learn more about the process by going to the Beagle Freedom Project website.

Two other great organizations were also involved that day:
Friends of Hannah Rescue and Hairy Moose Pet Retreat

Please join me in supporting these organizations or spreading the word so that we can find loving forever homes for these animals!
