The Lipscomb Family {Nashville Family Photographer}

On the blog this week are some familiar faces: the Lipscombs! I love being able to watch families grow and I'm thankful I get to capture moments like these time and time again. You can see one of my favorite previous sessions with them by heading on over to Bea's newborn session with their dogs. This time, we had some fun taking fall portraits, complete with big smiles and large pumpkins!

Bea is growing up so quickly and is already finding her own personality. She loves Peppa Pig and all things Frozen. She also enjoys her ballet class, singing loudly in quiet places and dressing up like a princess.

Bea's oldest fur buddy, Bella, is a 12-year-old cavalier King Charles spaniel. The Lipscombs love that cavaliers are known for their calm demeanor and snuggles. Their other two newest additions to the family  are Georgie (a 5-month-old Lagotto Romagnolo) and Finn (a mix who was named after the mischievous Mark Twain character). Finn is a rescue from Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue.

The Patterson Family {Nashville Family Photographer}

It's always so fun to take family portraits for people I've known for several years. Meet the Patterson family, including Tavi, Kevin, their two-year-old son Cullen, and their two furry family members Phoebe and Reese! 

I was their wedding photographer for their big day at one of my favorite venues, CJ's Off the Square. You can check out their wedding photos online here!

The photos on the blog today are from their first official portrait session since having Cullen. Having the opportunity to capture multiple special moments for a family is truly something I never take for granted!

It was also so much fun to learn more about their pups! Reese got her name because they thought she looked like a peanut butter cup (so cute!) and it just stuck. She loves sleeping under the blankets and isn't a big fan of being outside when it's windy. They adopted her from a friend who rescues dogs, and she's such a smart and agile dog during playtime!

When they first planned to get Phoebe, Kevin was intending to name her Moxy, but once we saw her she looked like a Phoebe! She loves being outside and is really friendly to just about anyone. They adopted her from Love at First Sight.

The Dalton Family {Nashville Family Photographer}

Another fun family mini session is on the blog this week, this time with the Dalton family! Meet Michael, Tiffany, Jackson, Caitlin and their pup Peyton.

When I asked them how they came up with the name for Peyton, I loved their answer! Each member of the family put their favorite dog name in a bowl and when Caitlin pulled the paper out, it was her favorite name that was picked -- such a unique way of picking a name!

He's a yellow lab that makes for the perfect family dog, since he loves the kids and is really easy to train. Peyton also loves to be with his people and "stand guard" at the office door. They often find him curled up asleep next to the door, so cute! Their favorite things about him are that he's tenderhearted, gentle and an old soul. 

It was also great to hear about the kids' favorite activities: Jackson loves anything involving baseball, basketball, football and his friends, while Caitlin loves to dance, read and convince her brother to be mischievous. And of course both kids are fantastic helpers with Peyton, making sure he gets lots of exercise!
