The Paulk Family {Nashville Dog Photographer}

On the blog this week is the Paulk family! I had so much fun capturing portraits of Nicole, her mom Irmgard, and their three pups (Chloe, Lexi Kate, and Coco) this summer at my home in Nashville. 

Chloe is an 11-year-old cocker spaniel who has youthful happiness, limitless energy and some adorable paws! She has two true loves: any and all kinds of food, and her toy bunny. She also thinks baths are utterly pointless. Not only did Nicole name her Chloe after wanting a quintessential French name, she also added a middle name of Noël, since she was brought to her new home in the month of December. 

Lexi Kate is a four-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and loves being in your lap the most.  She dislikes the rain and completely refuses to go out in it. What Nicole loves most about Lexi Kate is her resilience, soft fur and laugh. Although the name 'Lexi' was given to her by her rescue heroes from the Cavalier Rescue of Alabama on her freedom day, Nicole added the second name of Kate in honor of her first Cavalier, Katie.

And little Coco is 13 years old and a poochon who was found wandering the streets one day and now has a forever home! They named her Coco because of her hot-chocolate colored fur. She loves naps and toys, and is absolutely terrified of thunderstorms. Nicole says she loves her powder puff tail, the way she runs, and the way she listens to you when you talk to her. 

The day of our session was also a special time to celebrate with photos, since it was Irmgard's birthday! I hope you enjoy these favorites from their mini session with me!

Sophie & Velma {Franklin, TN Dog Photographer}

On the blog this week are some adorable photos from a dog photography session at one of my favorite places in Franklin: Harlinsdale Farm!

Meet Sophie and her little pup yorkie, Velma. I had been wanting to create this shot of a girl riding on her bike with a dog in the basket, and they were the perfect models to bring my vision to life! I can't get enough of how cute they both look together!

Sophie was five years old when she named Velma after one of her favorite TV characters from Scooby Doo. Velma loves to go on car rides and snuggle on the couch, but runs away from any kind of bags or papers crinkling. Sophie loves her so much and even dresses her up in doll clothing! (What a patient pup!)

Their family found Velma on a canoe trip as a tiny puppy, wet and muddy on the river bank. Sophie's family rescued her and gave her a great home.

The Thieret Family {Nashville Dog Photographer}

On the blog this week is another fun family photography session near my hometown in Cape Girardeau, Missouri!

Nicki and I go way back -- we've known each other since pre-kindergarten! I love getting the chance to work with her, her husband Jeff, their two boys (Jake and Zach) and their sweet pups (Cooper and Pepper). 

Cooper is a 7-year-old lab mix rescue from the Humane Society in Pine Bluff Arkansas. He's very laid back and loves to be petted while laying next to you. And if you stop for even a moment, he'll keep nudging you with his nose until you start again. Unfortunately, he also loves to roll in cow dung -- definitely not a fun thing to clean up!

Pepper is a 3-year-old west highland terrier and the only other gal in the house. She's feisty, doesn't realize how small she is, and loves being the dominant dog. She can also run like the wind, which makes it hard to catch her when necessary. Thankfully, she's a cuddler, and loves to snuggle with Nicki at the end of the day.
